Greenmind, Bandung — Kementerian Kehutanan (Menhut) memastikan perlindungan satwa serta masa transisi pengelolaan Kebun Binatang Bandung setelah pencabutan izin Yayasan Margasatwa Tamansari (YMT). Kebijakan ini diambil untuk menjamin kesejahteraan satwa dan kepastian pengelolaan sesuai ketentuan perundang-undangan.
Direktur Jenderal Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam dan Ekosistem (KSDAE) Kementerian Kehutanan Satyawan Pudyatmoko menegaskna bahwa pencabutan izin dilakukan agar satwa tidak terdampak konflik administratif dan kelembagaan.
“Pencabutan izin ini kami lakukan untuk melindungi satwa, mengingat adanya konflik kepengurusan serta perintah pengosongan aktivitas YMT karena tidak adanya alas hak pemanfaatan tanah milik Pemerintah Kota Bandung. Negara tidak boleh membiarkan satwa menjadi korban persoalan administratif dan kelembagaan” ujar Satyawan Pudyatmoko, dilansir dari ANTARA, Kamis (5/2/2026).
Kementerian Kehutanan menyatakan akan bertanggung jawab penuh terhadap pengawasan dan perawatan seluruh satwa selama masa transisi pengelolaan, sambil menyiapkan pengelola baru yang memenuhi standar kesejahteraan hewan.
Sementara itu, Wali Kota Bandung Muhammad Farhan menegaskan langkah pencabutan izin yayasan pengelola merupakan bagian dari upaya penertiban aset daerah.
“Langkah ini dilakukan dalam rangka pengamanan aset Pemerintah Kota Bandung, khususnya tanah milik daerah yang selama ini dimanfaatkan tanpa dasar hukum yang sah,” ujar Muhammad Farhan, dilansir dari laman resmi Kementerian Kehutanan, Kamis (5/2/2026).
Selama masa transisi tersebut, Kementerian Kehutanan bersama Pemerintah Kota Bandung menandatangani nota kesepahaman untuk memastikan operasional kebun binatang, perawatan satwa, dan penataan pengelolaan berjalan optimal hingga pengelola definitif ditetapkan.
